I win!

Just received this in the mail. My music video Captain Johnson's Bearded Clam won an Award of Merit at the international film festival Indiefest! Hooray!

Ani 116 Projects

This one is a graphite rendering of our awesome Shrunkenheadman president Youri Dekker. The assignment was to find a "rising star" and do a photo-realistic rendering of them. Youri is an animator and a hilarious actor, so this is what I came up with!

This is probably the most serious piece I've ever done. It is in support of gay rights/marriage and serves as a tribute to those who have sustained injury or died at the hands of "religious" oppressors. 

Ani 117A Gary Soto Garage Project

This project was based on the poem "The Inner Tube" by Gary Soto. The final assignment was to create two color renderings of the same environment with different lighting, and value paintings for those lighting situations and one additional, differently composed, medium shot. I used some of the objects that Gary described ridiculously well in his poem and some objects/environment aspects from my youth. The half built windmill which is the focal point in one of the value paintings is something I actually built for my mom when I was little, and the layout of the wider shot, top platform, cabinets and ice cooler, is from my dad's garage. These images are pretty much laid out in reverse chronological order. Enjoy!

I made this years ago when I was first learning Maya at West Valley College under Chris Cryer. I mainly just wanted to showcase some of the Illustrator/Photoshop work that I was doing in an interesting way. Took me about a semester to make. Enjoy!

The assignment was to create a stop motion animation of something falling and it was voted one of the best three! I laid a little drawn animation of the teacher getting his head squished on top because I love Alejandro Garcia!!! He's the best teacher! Genius!!
